Savory Garlic Butter Cabbage Steaks

Delicious roasted cabbage steaks coated with garlic butter, smoked paprika, and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

  • 1 head green cabbage
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Remove the outer leaves from the head of cabbage and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. Place the cabbage slices on a baking sheet and generously brush both sides with olive oil.
  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  6. Brush the garlic butter mixture evenly over both sides of the cabbage steaks.
  7. Sprinkle the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika over the cabbage steaks.
  8. Roast the cabbage in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  9. Flip each steak and roast for an additional 10 minutes or until the edges are golden and crisp.
  10. Once out of the oven, sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley and red pepper flakes over the steaks.
  11. Serve immediately while they’re warm.

Notes

These cabbage steaks can be paired with grilled meats or served on their own with a dip.
