A delightful Japanese dessert consisting of soft wraps and chewy mochi, enveloped in creamy white chocolate, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • Soft wraps: cake flour, sugar, eggs
  • Chewy mochi: glutinous rice flour, sugar, water
  • Creamy white chocolate
  • Matcha powder (optional for flavor)
  • Tea or coffee (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Soft Wraps: Mix cake flour, sugar, and eggs in a bowl to create a smooth batter. Pour the batter onto a non-stick skillet over medium heat, cooking until each wrap is lightly golden.
  2. Create Chewy Mochi: Combine glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water in a bowl, stirring until you achieve a smooth mixture. Transfer to a steamer and cook until it transforms into a sticky, elastic dough. Allow to cool slightly before shaping.
  3. Melt the White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave and let cool slightly until pourable.
  4. Assemble the Dessert: Take one soft wrap, place a disc of mochi in the center, gently pressing it down. Top with another soft wrap, then drizzle melted white chocolate generously over the top.
  5. Optional Garnishing: Dust matcha powder over the chocolate drizzle for added flavor and color.
  6. Serve & Enjoy: Serve with tea or coffee. If gifting, wrap in a beautiful box or bag.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Gently reheat in the microwave before serving.
