This slow cooker pulled pork recipe transforms humble pork shoulder into a tender, flavorful dish that pulls apart effortlessly.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs pork shoulder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Buns for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the sliced onion and minced garlic at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Rub the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, paprika, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar.
  3. Place the seasoned pork on top of the onion and garlic.
  4. Pour the chicken broth and barbecue sauce over the pork.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours.
  6. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
  7. Mix the shredded pork with the cooking juices and serve on buns.
