Deliciously soft and chewy Snickerdoodle cookies coated in cinnamon-sugar, perfect for warming the heart.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.
  6. Prepare the cinnamon-sugar coating in a small bowl by mixing 3 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Shape the cookie dough into balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  8. Place the coated balls on a greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened to room temperature and consider chilling the dough if it’s too warm.
