A nostalgic dessert cake with layers of moist cake, sweetened condensed milk, fluffy marshmallow frosting, and coconut.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tub fluffy marshmallow frosting
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the cake mix box instructions. Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake according to package directions.
  4. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes after baking.
  5. Poke holes evenly across the top of the warm cake with a fork.
  6. Soak the warm cake by slowly pouring the sweetened condensed milk over it.
  7. Complete cooling by letting the cake cool completely.
  8. Frost the cooled cake with the marshmallow frosting evenly.
  9. Add shredded coconut over the frosting.
  10. Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, serve with fresh berries or vanilla ice cream. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
