A delightful Spiced Pear Galette featuring juicy pears and warm spices, all wrapped in a flaky crust.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the sliced pears with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour until well combined.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Arrange the pear mixture in the center of the crust, leaving a 2-inch border around the edges.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the pears, pleating as necessary.
  6. Brush the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. For extra flavor, add fresh mint leaves.
