A delightful combination of sweet vanilla flavors and a nutty streusel topping, reminiscent of a beloved café treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture until just blended.
  6. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts for the streusel topping.
  7. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared dish and sprinkle half of the streusel topping over it.
  8. Add the remaining batter and finish with the rest of the streusel on top.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Pair with a rich cup of your favorite coffee or tea. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
