  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Heat Milk and Butter: In a saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm, then combine with the dry ingredients.
  3. Create the Dough: Add the egg and mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the Dough: Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth.
  5. Allow to Rise: Let the dough rise for 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll Out the Dough: Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. Prepare the Filling: Spread the cream cheese, top with strawberries, and sprinkle with sugar.
  8. Shape the Rolls: Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  9. Prepare for Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  11. Bake the Rolls: Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Drizzle with Glaze: Mix the powdered sugar and milk, then drizzle over the warm rolls.

Ensure your milk and butter mixture is warm but not hot. Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor.
