Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 4 equal squares or rectangles.
  3. Combine the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a small bowl and beat until smooth.
  4. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each puff pastry piece.
  5. Top the cream cheese layer with sliced fresh strawberries and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
  6. Fold the corners of each puff pastry square over the filling to seal.
  7. Whisk together the egg and milk, then brush the mixture over the edges of the puff pastry.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the puff pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Allow to cool for a few minutes and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure the cream cheese is softened for the best filling. Optionally, add a drizzle of honey or lemon zest before baking.
