A delightful and nostalgic dessert featuring a crunchy pretzel crust, creamy filling, and fresh strawberries, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 (6 oz) package strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups sliced fresh strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix until the pretzels are fully coated. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish and bake for 10 minutes. Allow the crust to cool completely.
  2. In a separate mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold in the whipped topping until well blended. Once ready, spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
  3. In a bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in 2 cups of boiling water. Once it’s fully dissolved, stir in the sliced fresh strawberries. Let this mixture cool down for about 10 minutes.
  4. Carefully pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly. Refrigerate the complete dessert for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

Cool the pretzel crust completely before adding the cream cheese layer to ensure it stays firm. Substitute strawberries with other berries for variations.
