A heartwarming dish of stuffed bell peppers filled with a savory mixture of ground meat, rice, and spices, topped with melty cheese.

  • 4 Bell peppers
  • 1 lb Ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup Cooked rice
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Cheese, shredded
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Herbs (e.g., oregano, basil), to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the bell peppers by cutting off their tops and removing the seeds.
  3. Sauté the onion and garlic in a skillet until soft, then add the ground meat and cook until browned.
  4. Combine the cooked rice, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and herbs into the skillet and mix thoroughly.
  5. Stuff the bell pepper mixture into each pepper and place them in a baking dish.
  6. Top each pepper with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy!
