Delightfully nutty tahini shortbread cookies with a crumbly texture that evoke warm memories.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup tahini
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, add the tahini, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Gradually add the flour to the tahini mixture, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
  4. If using nuts, fold in your chopped nuts of choice.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls, about the size of a tablespoon, and flatten them slightly.
  6. Place the formed cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Once baked, let them cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
