  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat until well cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, kidney beans, and beef broth.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
  7. Serve hot, topped with shredded cheese, a dollop of sour cream, and green onions if desired.

Notes

Chili can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
