A comforting and cheesy baked ziti dish, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain well.
  3. Mix together ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a large bowl.
  4. Spread a layer of marinara sauce in a baking dish, followed by half of the cooked pasta, the ricotta mixture, and another layer of marinara sauce. Layer with the remaining pasta and top with the rest of the sauce.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  6. Drizzle olive oil on top and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Let the baked ziti cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad and garlic bread. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months.
