Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan to ensure your bars come out easily.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a large bowl. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the butterscotch chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until edges are set and the center is slightly soft.
  9. Let cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sprinkling sea salt on top before baking or incorporating nuts for a crunchy texture.
