A delicious and colorful Tuna Poke Bowl, capturing the vibrant flavors of Hawaii, with sushi rice, fresh tuna, and nutritious toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sushi rice
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 ounces fresh sushi-grade tuna, diced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 small cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. In a saucepan, combine rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold the mixture into the cooked rice.
  3. In another bowl, combine diced tuna, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for a few minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  4. To assemble the poke bowl, place a scoop of seasoned rice in a bowl. Top with marinated tuna, avocado slices, cucumber, and green onions for a colorful display.
  5. Garnish with nori strips and sesame seeds. Serve immediately for a fresh and delightful meal that will transport you to the shores of Hawaii.
