These spooky Zombie Brain Cupcakes are a delicious Halloween treat, topped with oozy raspberry jam and frosted to look like brains.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 can of white frosting
  • 1/2 cup of raspberry jam
  • Red food coloring
  • Green food coloring
  • Chocolate syrup (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  2. Mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling them about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Let them cool completely.
  6. Create a small section from the top of each cupcake.
  7. Fill the carved section with raspberry jam.
  8. Frost the cupcakes with white frosting.
  9. Mix red and green food coloring into the frosting.
  10. Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top.
  11. Serve your spooky creations and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week.
